Roof Replacement

With a New Roof, Your Home Will Look Better and Provide You With Added Protection For Years to Come.

At Burton, we now offer complete roofing repair & replacement services.  More than that, we offer you the expert and customer-friendly guidance to help you make the right choice…every time.

When choosing a new roof system, you want more than durability and protection.  You want the best in aesthetic value…a look that also compliments the style of your home.

At Burton, we install all types of roofs in a wide range of colors and styles.  Here are the most common roofing materials we install:

  • Composition shingles – A good choice for a clean look at an affordable price. Higher-quality versions made from asphalt or fiberglass shingles offer a more durable option and may be available with recycled content.  They come in a wide selection of types, brands and colors. They’re relatively easy to install, and in some applications can be nailed in place over an existing roof. They require low maintenance and can be walked on without damaging the material. Most brands offer Class A fire protection.

  • Wood shakes offer a natural look with a lot of character. Because of variations like color, width, thickness, or cut of the wood, no two shake roofs will ever be the same.   Wood also helps to insulate your attic and allows your house to breathe, circulating air through the small openings under the felt rows on which wooden shingles are laid.

  • Clay roofing tile is a good choice for homes with a southwestern, Italian,
or Spanish Mission design, or even for homes with a modern, clean look
Tile lasts a long time - its expected lifespan is greater than the lifespan of the material on which the roofing rests. Tile won't rot or burn, and it can't be harmed by insects. It requires little maintenance, and comes in a variety of colors, types, styles and brands.

  • Slate offers a very natural look and can be laid out in a variety of patterns.
Like tile, slate offers you a long lifespan, good fire protection,
low maintenance, and an invulnerably to rot and insects
. It comes in a good selection of sizes and colors, although colors are limited to those found in nature.

  • Concrete tile is a relatively new roofing material.  The material is made from a variety of fiber-reinforced cement products. Some are coated with plastics, enamels, or thin metals, and some contain recycled material.  Burton offers concrete tiles that simulate the look of wood while improving on the durability and fire protection that real wood affords. It can also approximate the look of clay or slate.

  • Metal roofs are coming back into vogue. In the late 1700s, zinc, copper, and lead were the most popular materials used for roofing - such famous historic buildings as the Washington Monument and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello have metal roofs.  Metal roofs are available to resemble wood shakes, clay, shingles, and Victorian metal tiles.  Metal roofs are durable, fire retardant and almost maintenance-free. They are also energy efficient; metal reflects heat and blocks its transfer into the attic.

Ventilation & Insulation Are Key

One of the most critical factors in roof system durability is proper ventilation. Without it, heat and moisture build up in an attic area and combine to cause rafters and sheathing to rot, shingles to buckle, and insulation to lose its effectiveness.ventilation, insulatiom
At Burton, we’re always on the lookout to help lower your home energy costs while enhancing your family’s annual indoor comfort, and our roofing services give us one more opportunity to do just that.

In addition to the free flow of air, insulation plays a key role in proper attic ventilation. An ideal attic has:

  • A gap-free layer of insulation on the attic floor to protect the house below from heat gain or loss.
  • A vapor retarder under the insulation and next to the ceiling to stop moisture from rising into the attic.
  • Enough open, vented spaces to allow air to pass in and out freely.
  • A minimum of 1 inch between the insulation and roof sheathing.

Count on Burton for more than roof repair or replacement.  Our skilled installers will make sure each element of your roofing system is doing its part to give you the kind of peace of mind we know you value.
